Solifiq — Independent Material Safety Evaluations

Solifiq evaluates durable household goods for material composition, chemical treatment and longevity. Each product is scored on the Solifiq Index™ (0–10), derived from the SEMIS™ framework, which assesses four pillars: material integrity, chemical treatment, exposure context, and provenance disclosure.

Evaluations are screening assessments against specific, named substances: PFAS, BPA and related bisphenols, phthalates, lead, cadmium, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). A Solifiq Index score records how a product performed against those screens and against the SEMIS pillars. It is not a certification, a safety guarantee, or a claim that any product is free of all substances of concern.

Scope: durable goods and materials, including cookware, food storage, drinkware, bedding, textiles, furniture, and kitchen tools.

Independence: Solifiq earns commission on qualifying purchases made through retailer links on this site. Links are marked as affiliate links and commission never influences an Index score or a product's ranking. Manufacturers may pay a fee to submit a product for evaluation; that fee buys an evaluation slot and a stated turnaround time only. It does not buy a score, a placement, a ranking, or any guarantee that the evaluation will be published. Full terms are set out on our affiliate disclosure page.

Solifiq Compass is a private household record. It lets you log the products you already own and see how they score against the same framework, with the highest-impact changes surfaced first.

Our research section covers published evidence on material safety, emerging contaminants and regulatory change, written in plain language and reviewed by a human editor before publication.
